Thursday, March 7th ~ "Cirque Mechanics - Zephyr" at the Marcus Center
This was my third Cirque performance. Always fun. Always amazing. I will see the next one too.
This was my third Cirque performance. Always fun. Always amazing. I will see the next one too.
I have seen John McGivern in several roles over the years. Think back to “Shear Madness”. But I do love the simple memories of our childhood that “The Wonderbread Years” offers. Lunch at the Fox & Hounds is always a delight.
I’ve never seen “Funny Girl” on stage and to be honest was a little concerned. Barbara Streisand is a hard act to follow. This actress was fabulous and could absolutely go toe to toe with Barbara any day. Unfortunately the performance was the day immediately following the blizzard - the only snow of note this year. For those who were able to get out of their garage, driveway and down their street - they enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Sazama’s Fine Dining before the powerhouse performance!
This is my first experience seeing “Beautiful - the Carole King Musical” at the Marriott Lincolnshire. FABULOUS!!! All capitol letters and bolded. I will see this again.
Our excursion began in Cedarburg and included an overnight stay at the American Club in Kohler, entrance to their annual Kindlesmarket and many stops before and after. Great time, good conversation, accomplished a bit of Christmas shopping too!
Our wonderful driver, Michael and I put our heads together to offer a pretty diverse food experience in Madison, Wisconsin. Breakfast to dinner, with quite a bit in between. Eleven stops in total with a lot of fun in between. I will do this again!
Sincere appreciation to Ken and Barb Wardius, our step-on docents for our entire four day adventure. Sincere appreciation to the Alpine Resort for rescuing us! Our reservations were to stay at Rowley’s Bay but seven days before our departure, Rowley’s Bay experience a devastating fire. Alpine not only was able to accommodate our group, they went out of their way to take care of us. EVERYONE agreed - we need to return to the Alpine Resort in Door County.
If you missed this trip you missed a lot. Too much to review - good food, several lighthouses, wine, shopping, an evening sunset at Peninsula Players before a fun mystery, a cruise on Lake Michigan, an opportunity to game and finally a trip to a working windmill! A fabulous dinner with new friends topped everything off!
What a great day! Beautiful day after a refreshing rain. I have not been to the Caves in almost 20 years and felt like I was there for the first time. Our stops at both Munchkey Apples, Linstroth’s Valley Farm we fun. Lunch and shopping in New Glarus were topped off with a stop at Bailey’s Run Vineyard for a few appetizers and a glass of wine.
This was the first time I’ve seen Gypsy on stage. Fantastic!
This was fun. Not the typical Drury Lane musical performance.
I truly want to thank everyone who joined our adventure to Stillwater, Minnesota. This group was a wonderful and adventurous! From Fort McCoy to the waterfalls, the National Eagle Center to the Alpaca Farm, the toy store, Granddad Bluff and Kelly Krieg-Sigman, our step-on tour guide in La Crosse, the dinner train to our dinner cruise - this was great fun and some of the most beautiful scenery Wisconsin offers! A special note of appreciation to our driver Michael and his wife Anita!
Wow! What an adventure! Great fun as we experienced travel in a double decker bus - for some this was the first time! 80 adventurous souls joined the day at the lavender farm in Baraboo, experienced a hayride, lunch and a show at the Opry and sailed down the Wisconsin River and ended the day with fudge. I personally had ice cream - yum!
This was a long time coming. Originally scheduled for spring of 2020, world events forced the postponement. After a few failed attempts to reschedule we finally were able to enjoy the tour based on the book of the same title. A very interesting day and look at Chicago. Lunch was fun and delicious at the Cornerstone Cafe’ and my first trip to the Victorian Era Glass House at the Lincoln Park Conservatory was the perfect way to end the day.
This was fun. I do look for the “road less traveled”. Though I do enjoy wonderful musicals, I do want to see something I have not seen before. I will share this delivered!
This was my first time seeing “A Chorus Line”. Nope - never even seen the movie. Drury Lane is the perfect place to experience this production. I truly enjoyed!
This was the perfect way to set the mood for St. Patrick’s Day. I’m not Irish, but do enjoy the enchanting harmonies of the Emerald Isle. I did clap my hands, stomped my foot in time with the energy offered on stage. Lunch at M.J. Stevens is always a delight.
Smooth and charismatic - Dean Martin. The “King of Cool” and member of the famed “Rat Pack”. I truly enjoyed the stories and events shared as his life was retold and sung. My first experience at Hubbard Park Lodge was delicious, and I will certainly return.
High energy and high hair - “Hairspray”. Once again, I thank Sazama’s Fine Catering for our delicious lunch.
One of my favorite musicals “My Fair Lady” , in the wonderful Marcus Center. Staying close to home is perfect in January. Sazama’s Fine Catering once again offered a delicious lunch!
“Silver Bells and Diamonds” was an enjoyable way to celebrate the season. The Schauer PAC is one of my favorite theaters. A delicious lunch at Fox & Hounds.
I had been looking for a reason to stay at the Osthoff Resort and the Old World Christmas Market was the perfect excuse! The group had a wonderful time beginning their holiday shopping. Bakery, cheese, wreaths, socks, chocolate and more! Sincere appreciation to those who joined our quick get-away. I did truly enjoy - thank you.
This performance definitely provoked many emotions including cynicism, tenderness, compassion and humor. My favorite moment was the ending. Pure - simple and the reason for the season, which sometimes gets lost in our hectic modern life. Thank you Joan and the Packing House for a wonderful lunch!
Our day began with a sweet treat from Uncle Mike’s Bakery before our docent led tour of the Green Bay Packers Heritage Trail. The docents for this tour were wonderful. Knowledgeable, passionate and just plain fun! Our delicious Italian lunch was enjoyed within the exhibit full of historical facts and artistic interpretation. The day ended as it should have - with chocolate as we stopped at Wilmar Chocolate
I once again had the pleasure of teaming up with husband and wife team Ken and Barb Wardius, author, lecturer and historical guides to lighthouses across the United States and Wisconsin. Wonderful people, full of interesting history. I look forward to working with them again in Door County area in September of 2023!
What a great time!!! Thank you to all who joined. This group really had fun together. We tasted our way up to Door County with visits to Seroogy’s Chocolate, Cheese Cake Heaven, von Stiehl Winery and Peninsula Pub before we enjoyed a performance of “Sunflowered” at the Northern Sky Theater. We enjoyed the hospitality of Rowey’s Bay - owner Jewel is always very gracious. The second day we had breakfast at Al Johnson’s, experienced Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, a boat ride from Fish Creek Boat Tours, a bit of shopping in Fish Creek and a stop at Lautenbach Orchard before dinner at Pelletier’s Famous Fish Boil. Our final day breakfast was enjoyed at Rowely’s Bay before we connected with Linda Stalter for a ferry ride to Washington Island along with lunch and a tour. Many became members of the Bitter’s Club at Nelsen’s Hall. Our final stop was dinner at the Log Den - family run and always delicious! Everyone returned tired, but happy along with a few souvenirs.
Wonderful repeat experience of Barefoot Becky & the Ivanhoe Dutchmen aboard the Celebration Belle! Good food, wonderful hospitality, beautiful day cruising the Mississippi River along with my daughter Ashley and 110 others!
The Britins & Beatles at the Phoenix Park Bandshell in Delavan, Wisconsin. Great music from a great era. Dinner at The Duck Inn Supper Club. My first experience and I will definitely be back!
I grew up listening to my mother sing to the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Great music that speaks to more than one generation. Great lunch at That’s Amore’!
I had never been to the State of Wisconsin historical landmark - the Circus World Museum. Appreciation to those who joined me. We started the day with a delicious breakfast at Paul Bunyan and ended the day with a fabulous dinner at Del-Bar Supper Club! And in between enjoyed several performances, discovered some history and appreciation of those who preserved it for all to enjoy.
What a wonderful quick get-away to the Shawano, Wisconsin area. Beginning with breakfast at the Whispering Orchard - a hidden treasure. Our stop to the West of the Lake Gardens were overshadowed with rain but our stop for chocolate made up for it. Stops at Captain’s Walk and the Dock Harley-Davidson Museum were a great diversion, along with an enjoyable dinner at the Torch Lite Supper Club. Many enjoyed the casino at the North Star Hotel in the evening. I only lost the $30 of house money given upon our arrival. Our second day began with breakfast at Farm Inn on Main, tour of Twigs Sundrop Soda (my inspiration for the trip) along with a bit of shopping and samples. A quick stop at Nueske’s, Weyauwega Cheese, Pure Vodka (Peggy’s great) and dinner at the Silvercryst Supper Club! Even ask Mike - there was absolutely NO ROOM LEFT ON THE BUS when we returned. Everyone returned much heavier than when they left!
