I cannot stress this enough … if you have never been to the Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington, Illinois you need to make a point to get there. This was my fifth visit and I always see something new. I completely enjoyed watching the jaw-dropping expression of those who joined me as they entered the Carousel Pavilion where we enjoyed a relaxing glass of wine and an elegant lunch. Pictures nor words can describe the spectacular European salon carousel built in 1890 that is the highlight of the space. But that neglects touching on all the other wonders contained in there. The organ concert that followed and the tour of the remaining collections including the Tiffany lamps, stained glass, orchestrations, a steam engine and locomotive collection, or the recently added wing dedicated to perfume just added to everyone’s wonder and amazement.
