January 25th ~ "Guys on Ice" at the Schauer Performing Arts Center

This was my second visit to MJ Stevens for lunch and was once again delicious! Service wonderful and portions generous. Then off to one of my favorite theaters, the Schauer PAC located in Hartford. Completely enjoyed the “Guys on Ice” performance for the third time. The first time was in June of 2015 at the Fireside and I enjoyed. The second time was in January 2016 at the Milwaukee Rep and this time I loved it. In 2020 I brought a different group but knew the same performers I enjoyed at the Milwaukee Rep. would be entertaining us. They did not disappoint! Funny, heart-warming, mid-west humor. My husband is an avid fisherman in ALL seasons. Our oldest son was on the UW-Madison Fishing Team (who knew colleges had fishing team, but yes, it is a thing!). All four of our children enjoy fishing on the ice so I do have a bit of background in the sport. But you don’t need any experience in fishing to find humor, and just plain enjoyment in this performance.

Guys on Ice brings Wisconsin culture to life in the musical comedy about ice fishing and friendship.  From their shanty, ice fishing buddies Marvin and Lloyd sing about life, love, ‘da Packers and the one that got away.  This hilarious piece of anthropology will charm your wool socks right off!  So zip up your snowmobile suit and check it out the next time it comes around.
